Tax Office Hours
Hours are Monday thru Friday 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. For your convenience payments can be made at our drive-in window during regular working hours. A drop box is located to the left of the drive–in window for evening and weekend drop-offs.

Scott Township and Chartiers Valley School District statements are mailed to homeowners as well as mortgage companies July 1st of each tax year. Along with the statements a very informative letter is enclosed. Please take the time to read it over. Homeowners paying property taxes for the first time may find this information helpful. If you have any changes through out the year such as refinancing, changing mortgage companies, address changes, or you may have paid off your mortgage, please contact our office with the up-dated information for our records. Act 511 Taxes/ Earned Income / Net Profit TaxesJo Anne Berdnik, Act 511 Tax Collector ACT 511 - Scott Township / Chartiers Valley School District | Earned Income Tax: | 1% | | Local Services Tax | $52.00 per year | | | | | Mercantile Tax | .001 Wholesale sales of a product | | | .0015 Retail sales of a product | Earned Income is 1% and must be paid on a quarterly basis to avoid a penalty. It is the responsibility of all residents earning a salary to contact the Tax Office and have his or her name added to the tax rolls. Any changes such as move-out dates, new addresses, name changes please contact our office. You may cut out and send the above form to the tax office if you did not receive one or have lost your quarterly card. Earned Income Tax is paid to the area where the taxpayer resides. The Local Services Tax which replaced the Occupation Tax is paid to the area where you work. If your employer withholds your wage tax, please check to make sure the money is being sent to Scott Township. Township Ordinance #1136-81 also requires owners of rental property and rental agents handling property to supply current tenant information to our office including move in dates names and addresses.

SewageIf your sewage account is delinquent and you entered into a payment plan with our office, please continue making your payments on schedule. If you defaulted in your payment plan, water shut-offs are scheduled for early summer. Landlords, you are still responsible for sewage payments for your rental properties. Please call our office @ 412-276-5302 to determine if your tenant’s sewage bills are up to date. Pennsylvania American Water Company Takes Over Sewage BillingScott Township has contracted with Pennsylvania American Water Company to collect sewage charges. Effective January 2003, residents’ sewage charges have been billed on their monthly water bills in accordance with the water consumed that month. Billings by the PAWC can not be paid at the Township Building, but customers can utilize all the convenient payment methods currently made available by PAWC, namely electronic funds transfer, by-pay agents and charge card. The closest by-pay location is Enrietti News in Carnegie.
